On Saturday, Don will lead a 30-km beginners' ride to Jonan Jima, a little piece of heaven across from Haneda Airport. There's a beach. Start at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills at 11:00 a.m., back by 2:30 or 3. Convenience store lunch. Forecast: Mostly sunny with a chance of beers.


Also on Saturday, Ira will lead his Three Rivers and a Food One ride.

Meet at 8:00 a.m. at Higashi Tamagawa Park near Futago-tamagawa station.

Up the Tamagawa for about 20 km to Yotsuya-bashi (near Y's Fuchu): Cross the bridge and ride the Asakawa River for about 10 km until Kitano station. Then the Yudonogawa River for about 10 km and take a long break at Food ONE! Then 32 km back down the same Three Rivers to Tokyo.
Total 70 km - 75 km. Easy to Medium pace. No big hills.


will find us on another 30km beginners' ride, this time to Odaiba. Start at the Hyatt at 11:00, back by 2:30 or so.


And then on Monday, a 55-km intermediate Tama River loop, easy but fast. Start at the Grand Hyatt 11:00 a.m. Alternate rendezvous points: KFC in Ebisu @ 11:30, Intersection of Kan-Nana and Komazawa-Dori @ 11:45, Komazawa Park @ noon, bridge at Futako-Tamagawa (Kanagawa side) @ 12:20, Gas Bashi @ 12:45 or 1:00. Long break at Jonan Jima seaside park (across from Haneda) at 1:30. Convenience store lunch. A post-ride visit to a place near the Hyatt that has 6 beers on tap a definite possibility.
