Saturday, Harry’s Hill-Climb (Note: best suited to mountain bikes or off-road tires)

Views/Food: ride the river to Hakone Pass, then beautiful views of lake Ashinoko and Mt. Fuji standing over the lake. Lunch on the lake. Climb ratings: 1, 4, 5, as determined by MapMyRide.

The difficulty of some portions of the climb make this unsuitable for beginners; mountain bikes and bikes with low gears are useful.

Meeting place/time: Odawara Station 10:00 AM SOUTH Entrance. Train line: OdakyuFor people leaving from Shinjuku, a good train will be the Hakone #7 that leaves at 8:30 arriving at 9:42, or the Odakyu line Express leaving at 8:30, arriving at 10:04. Fare for the first one is¥870, fare for the second one is ¥850. From Seijogakuen-mae, the 8:27 AM express to Odawara is good; that's the one I'll be on.
