That's the one! Right next to "The AARK" building. They have a little ladder going down to the riverbed now. Very thoughtful of them.I guess you mean here

I do recall willing the not-road to veer just a little more to the left, to cross the tile border sooner.
The "Uenohara area" expedition wasn't a real attempt at that tile. I still had illusions (delusions) that I could get that tile from the other side, so only went far enough to score the lower tile.Shurley thrice?
But finally got it. Congratulations! Have a mud medal, for obsessive persistence.
Did you spot the buzzsaw blade I left in a tree for you?

And is now a good time to discuss the other road?

I had considered the route on the right, but it climbs to 930 m before it gets close to the hiking trail. The course I took on the other hand enters the tile at 760 m of elevation with the gravel road topping out at 660 m. The final 2 km hike from the gravel road to the tile was really easy, more Sunday afternoon walk than hike (5 % average gradient). But had been thinking of this way:

maps.me !if only I could display the tile square KLM on Osmand, that would be the perfect solution!
That sounds great! Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.
What's the Max Square you see now, @joewein?just need to clear another tile or two to expand by another. 31x31 appears within reach
My Max Square is indeed still 27x27, but I have a buffer of about two rows of tiles on all 4 sides that are mostly done already and require very little extra work to clear completely (mostly a compact chunk on the NE corner that could be done in a day, plus the odd single tile here or there). Therefore 31x31 is definitely doable before the end of the year (not that @Karl should worry too much about this )What's the Max Square you see now, @joewein?
Your 'public' Max Square is a very respectable 27x27, but from what you write I infer that you see more than the public.

Welcome! maps.me is a strong ally in the quest for new tiles. A few features I use, that might come in handy for you and others. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.
Go for it! I guess did a lot of Saitama in the winter.this weekend I begin my effort in Saitama
You're right. In fact it's worse than that. There's one a little further south, that (if I let it) would prevent me from getting 60x60. There's an awful lot of absolutely nothing up in those mountains.Looks like there is another stopper up around Nikko
No, you don't! Don't be silly! There's nothing interesting to see there.I'm thinking that this weekend I begin my effort in Saitama. Love the mountains but need to get a real ride in.
I mean, a Max Square is just a number on the Interwebs, isn't it?
