Browsing the gallery clips at the top of the forums, I noticed this area: (posted by Taro in '07, and the answer may be lost in the moji-bake at the top of the bottom two links)

It looked high at first, but then there's this:

There are two pics that give a couple hints:

Beats me, but the area looks wonderful. Thanks for trying!

In the gallery all of those are listed as the same day, but that could easily be date posted, rather than date ridden.

I'm wondering if @thomas might know?

Click on the Information tab, under the picture to get full info on the photo taken, including date and time created in the camera.

Tried that, but I didn't get location...

Definitely looks Venus line-ish if not Utsukushigahara. The water is certainly not Lake Suwa, though!

I think @Half-Fast Mike is right about the location and that the last picture was taken on a completely different ride.

Playing Sherlock for a second, you will note the grey waterbottle and bike bag on the third photo have both mysteriously disappeared and been replaced by two clear water bottles in the fourth picture.

Good eyes!

It could almost be Nishi izu skyline area, Over where the cow farms are. Just a short drop down to the ocean, and it has a higher than it actually is kind of feel to it.
