That time of year again.
Contador & his sidekick Vino...
Lance and his last hurrah...
A. Schleck
F. Schleck
Vandevelde
Kreuziger ???
Basso
Evans
Rogers
Menchov
Sastre
Wiggins

Best line up in years...

Lots of contenders this year. Contador is the obvious pick, but somehow he just hasn't looked as dominating this year as the previous two or three...

Ah yes it's this time of the year already! Byebye sweet dreams - hail the Tour until 2am :)

What are your picks, gentlemen?
My bet for the podium is Contador/Menchov/Schleck

Hi

I don't have a TV, just a load of computers, so I was wondering if there was a place online I can get HD streaming of the Tour.

Willing to pay for it, for the whole tour. Will just leave it on and soak it in!

So, any hints or links will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Owen

Me too. My satellite dish is down cos my building is being repainted. An online link would be greatly appreciated.

might try VERSUS TV in the US (the old OLN). I heard they are trying an upscale on line service - live HD, tour tracker, stats, etc.. Not looked into myself, but might be worth a looksy. its $30 USD, however.

Just curious... What is the meaning and purpose of the kanji printed across Millar's handlebars? Thanks.

That is only available to those living in the USA or Canada. You can start messing around with proxies, etc, but that is a pain in the arse.

That's Chinese, not Japanese. Most likely the team name in Chinese. Are there any Chinese speakers on this forum?

My guess is that it's his name in Chinese, with the characters pronounced in Cantonese, not Mandarin. The first character is pronounced "mi" in Mandarin, and is probably similar in Cantonese. But the last two characters do not yield a "David"-like sound in Mandarin (such as Dawei -- commonly adopted by Davids), so I'm guessing its Cantonese.

Yes its Chinese, Milllar grew up in Hong Kong and his father still lives in Sai Kung.

The Chinese characters are apparently his name written twice.

My recommendation is http://www.thebox.bz/main.php
It is not real-time (it is a torrent site) but the ITV highlights with excellent commentary from Phil Liggett are almost always there as well as the whole stage with Eurosport with Sean Yates at the mic. Just browse on Sport.

On the web the ITV 4 site is great but I don`t know if it is viewable real-time in Japan.

Cheers everyone,

Yeah, I guess I will just rely on thebox. Wanted it in real time, but I don't suppose it matters

2 countries tonight.
Will the wind come in to play on the coast?
Splintered peleton?
Full speed, take no hostages?
Or a causal...lets take it easy till we get to the last 20km?

Hoping McEwen has recovered to at least give Cav and others a run.
It may be his last tour if he doesn't find good form.

A little bump of a hill near the end to make sure all the sprinters are up near the front nice and early.

By the way - having pretty good luck catching live feeds on justin.tv

Best way to get hooked up to the tour (or any race for that mater) is via cyclingfans.com

http://www.cyclingfans.com/

in my experience it takes a while to get a decent link, so once you have one you should keep with it

also, don't worry about languages as you can open a second window with the "eurosport audio" feed quite easily (although the timing may be a bit off)

enjoy!
