What's new

Today - May 2011

Rode in to work, will try some detouring on the way home.

I wore the TCC kit for the first time last WE and while I'm missing a third back pocket, found overall quality to be great.

My TTC jersey has a third back pocket, with a zipper. I very much like it, I can put my wallet, or other important stuff in there and not worry about losing it.

:)

120km break in ride on the new bike. slight tweaks to saddle height and stem position. Stretch out the shifting cables.

Rides like a dream!

Went up against a Dogma..... no chance! Everyone knows red makes a bike faster by 12%.

I had a GREAT day and this is why!

Sorry, that's not a bike .... it's pure porn!

All I can say is that the Italians REALLY know what they are doing!

Haven't they always? (Proud to be at least half Italian)

Next time spring for some black zipties to mount the sensor on the chain stay, them white ones just look wrong......

All kidding aside, I agree with Tim, total bike porn!

This thing is not built to stand still. Just looking at the photo, it seems to leap forward.

I photoshoped the anchor chain and drag anchor thats attached to the bike before posting.

Yes, I totally agree and didn't have any and needed the sensor so I could get the stats while riding here so I just went a head and mounted it with the unsightly white.....although I'm tempted to use a marker to colour them in to match the paint work :D

Was going to go and cheer on our teams in the Tsukuba Circuit 8 hour today but after 123km on an empty stomach yesterday and work tomorrow, I'm going to do some maintenance.

Anybody at Tsukuba today? (First time I haven't participated in 8 years, not counting last year when our team boycotted).

Serguei and I had a great ride up Odarumi-toge yesterday.

We started out from Kofu (R140, 206), took a short rest at Kotogawa Dam and continued past two closed gates up to an altitude of 2.072m. Unfortunately, we had to turn back just four kilometres short of the pass. More pics in the gallery.

yesterday & today

Just a simple up & back, trying for some GW riding while also getting in some quality time with the wife. She drove, I rode. Checked in at our usual beach cabins, then out for an aft. bath, then dinner, back to the cabin for a nice cab, and also out for breakfast. It would've been nicer to haul a bike and ride up that way, but that would've made her time up there pretty boring. Negative wind on the way up, positive on the way back.

I wander and never really remember "the way", but during the ride back I almost always made the right guesses and turns. If anyone were to come into, or leave, Kanazawa, heading to/from Noto, that ride back is what I would recommend. Not a rip-roaring roadie course, but definitely the least trafficked.

The tour de noto runs up 249 from here to Wajima, my above course parallels it and only uses that road a little bit. 249 misses a lot of good scenery, besides the horrible traffic and danger. (past Togi it is okay)
