Getting out of Tokyo to climb the Tsubaki Line (HC) and ride high on the sulphurous fumes of Hakone with fingers crossed it doesn't all go boom.
130 km with 3,000 metres of climbing according to RideWithGPS, but no really steep stuff. Climbs will be Wait At The Top (WATT) within reason. Regular stops for solid and liquid replenishment as usual.
Meeting place is Odawara Station at 8 am. Coin lockers also available at Odawara Station.
There is an express (急行) train that leaves Shinjuku at 6:19 and arrives in Odawara at 7:48. Probably the best train to catch. (I'll be getting on the last carriage at Kyodo (経堂).)
