I hope this shameless self-promotion doesn't get removed (no hard feelings if it disappears!)

I've been trying to get my startup, Sporra, off the ground. It's a ride hosting/matching service. We're trying to create a stock of available rides with a "hide hosts" program where we pay people to host rides.

If you have any questions or want to join the program, please join our Discord (https://discord.gg/3VtHxSXN) or send us an email at [email protected].

I have a tight schedule for the time being, but will do when I have a chance.
I'm curious about from where did you get the name. I have nothing against, but it doesn't sound good in Portuguese. (I'm Brazilian)

It from Swedish for motivation (not that we were influenced by Strava's name at all....)

Can I ask how it sounds not-so-great in Portugese?

Oh dear 😂

Btw, The Swedish word for "motivation" is actually "motivation" hehe

Sporra is the Swedish word for "spur" (to spur someone on) which does kinda mean "to motivate" in a sense so the concept is there I guess… Portuguese might not agree, or?

Is not the most beautiful Swedish word I can think of, but good luck with the startup non the less 👍

We originally had an idea of giving points for riding bikes and gamification in that way but in doing user interviews the feed back that we got was that for most people the pain point was finding people/places to ride so we did a rather large pivot
