I was looking up ways to treat and present saddle sores (the bacterial/fungul type, not open sores or chafing) and I heard that something called Hibiclens / Hibiscrub (chlorhexidine gluconate) and another thing called Betadine, which are both used to sanitize skin for surgery, were good options. Hibiclens and Hibiscrub don't seem to be available over the counter in Japan, but Betadine, which it turned out is just a name brand for iodine, is sold in every drug store in Japan as gargle fluid (ugaieki).
I actually had some in my kitchen (I bought it for brewing beer).
I just thought this might be helpful to other people with saddle sores.
