Speeding Up

I have been eyeing a new cycle computer for a while and wanted one with cadence and the option of an hrm and after getting a new job I treated myself to one of these

http://www.cateye.com/en/products/detail/CC-RD410DW/

I've attached all the bits in the right place, i.e. zip ties and sensors, which was a bit fiddly. Then when I got to what I thought would be the easy part, setting the computer, I hit a brick wall.

the manual suggests that on restarting it should give me the option to set the method of measuring speed km/mph. instead I'm getting the time set screen and then once I've set that it goes to an idle screen with no other options to choose from.

Has anyone else bought one of these and had similar problems, and/or found a solution?

I don't see the RD410DW manual online, only the 400 and the 420:

So were you pushing Menu and AC together to get it to initialize?

Yeah, I was following all the instructions it was pretty frustrating.

I got in contact with cateye and they suggested holding the ac button and menu then letting go of ac first and running through the setup menus which came up in a different order than shown on the manual. I think its sorted now though, I took it back to y's road and one of their guys had a fiddle with it. Having square chain stays doesn't help either I have to have the speed sensor up rather than down as I couldn't get the magnet close enough otherwise. I'll find out tomorrow if the cadence feature is working as it should be. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the advice!
