Tokyo Freewheel are doing a ride past my place tomorrow, so I may meet up with them at Matsudo around 11 and follow them to Koga. Anybody else interested?

This Sunday (23 degrees, cloudy, 40%) we'll tackle the Edogawa and ride up
to Sekiyado Castle http://www.chiba-muse.or.jp/SEKIYADO/English/top.htm

We'll start at 9:00 a.m. from the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi Hills, hit the
Arakawa at maybe 10:00, cross over on route 6 to the Edogawa, where we'll
take a break at around 11:00. This ride is flat, long and fast. It's 70km to
the castle and a little noodle shop, then another 20km to Koga, where we
catch the Shonan-Shinjuku line back to Tokyo, Shinjuku, Ebisu, whatever. You
will need a bike bag for the train and working bike lights, as it will be
dark by the time we get back to town, at around 6:00.

Went to training in the morning then had 2 hours to kill till I could find this crowd. So just rode up and down between Shibamata and Matsudo.

SOmehow they must have slipped past me as I saw a group riding on the other side of the river, so had to go back to the bridge and motor after them. Luckily they stopped for a toilet break. Was good to meet a new bunch of riders...
I met them at Matsudo, the pace was faster than I thought it would be so my morning training turned into an afternoon run as well.
One of the girls in their group was motoring along and was hard to keep up with her. Some on MTBS too which was pretty impressive.

At Sekiyado the little restaurant was closed... some wanted to turn back and some went on to Koga to get the train home.

I turned around with 4 of them who were riding back the same way they came.
When they came to a restaurant they ate & I went off home by myself as I only had about 130 yen in my pocket.

I may do another ride with them one day but usually too far away for the starts.

As our team are very strict with calls and hand signals I wasn't used to this groups way of doing things and almost ran up the back of a guy who kept slamming his brakes on. Almost had a few head ons as I didn't know riders were coming the other way.... (no signals).

130kms on the legs...good day out.
