I am NOT missing this again ! I don't care WHAT jackassery they may have planned at work I will call in DEAD if I gotta that weekend. Cool old bike parts are some of my favorite things. I might even sleep under the bridge Friday night to make sure I get there before noon :D I collected a bunch O links and posted them below. FYI I am pretty sure I can get there with my bike. SO SOMEBODY PLEASE wake me up in April and see you there.

"Sekidobashi is right where Y's International used to be before they moved a few km further up stream...It is also the spot of the famous bicycle flea market held twice a year (3rd Saturday of April & October)."
THANK YOU TOM

I think the survey is slightly misleading as we would all love Campy Super Record 11 on our bikes.

It really should be "What groupset can you afford on your bike"

Sekidobashi was really fun when I went there the first time last autumn. Although some things will be high-priced, you can make some nice deals. Got a used durace 9spd sprocket for 500Yen.
It's a very social event, which was more fun than just looking for cheap prices.

My Japanese buddy, who told me about it said, every time the "hawks" get in earlier, with no the first buyers already arriving before 6AM in the morning:confused:

NEXT WEEKEND ?

Are we still ON ? What happens if it rains ?

The hawks are a problem they scoop all the DEALS. It is NOT ETHICAL to sell before opening time. You see this at Estate sales all the time. But I will count on the fact that I ride a 63 cm and have very warped tastes to see me through.

SAD this is my last weekend in Japan though. SO I can not buy much. I HOPE I will be back again next winter and EVERY winter till the cherries blossom.

I AM NOT MISSING THE NEXT ONE !

I THINK I missed it AGAIN. Got out late and the Keiku line express train tanked so we all got on a local SO it took more than an hour to get to Yokohama where I got OFF and on the JR. SO didn't get there till 6 PM and it was done. BOO HOO.

IS ANYTHING ON SUNDAY ???????????????????????????????

If so I will give it another go. Tomorrow. PLEASE someone let me know.

Well, I used to go there from Shinjuku and it's not that bad. You can either ride rt20 all the way, which is fast and you will not get lost, but the road is no fun. Or you try to take a more or less direct route South to the river and ride the Tamagawa cycling road.
