Chuck is in town and he and I will be out for beers Saturday. Aiming for Shibuya, likely Goodbeer Faucets or Aldgate or something like that. (basically somewhere with some good food and great beer).

Lemme know if anyone else is up for it, can attempt to plan something.

We'll discuss bicycles. To keep things on-topic. For a little bit, anyway. :D :D

I was in the states in early Sept, and the extent to which "micro" brewers have taken over the market is unknowable unless you have been there. 15 years ago, pilsner urquell would have been front and center, but now, euro beers are almost an afterthought--drowned in wheat, pumpkin, and many other things/flavors.

Aisles and aisles of it, all of which are unavailable here. (purity laws?)

I'd recommend going to the Brimmer Beer Box on Aoyama-dori for a few 500 yen microbeers, then walking down to 246Common for some food and more 500 yen bottled import beers. 246Common is my go-to place for hanging out, as it's got a lovely communal vibe going on.
