Ride Saturday Aug 18 Mitsumine

Perfect no rush, I should be there bang on 9 given the train gets in 5 mins before. Enjoy the drag out

4 of us met up at the spaceship and leaving here pretty much on time. See you soon

We're at the first convini stop now. About 25km from the meetup one, and half of that is climbing. So we aim to Leave here by 7:30ish and still get there around 9ish. All is working out ok so far

Take your time @JDM. We're about 20km away from you and We got the first climb coming up. Should be there right on schedule

All good gents? Been at the FM in Nosakamachi since 9, not that I mind waiting

Hello gents. Thanks for the ride. I have to say it was an absolutely perfect morning for riding. My only regret is that I could not do the whole ride. But family takes precedence. Andrei and I were able to open it up on the way back though.

Looking forward to more rides and some bikepacking this fall.

Thanks for coming out everyone. I'll post some selfies too when I get home! Great weather for riding

Looks like you had great weather over there. Love that view from the top of Mitsumine

indeed, a great day to be out on the bike. heading out around 4:30 it was still pitch dark and actually chilly on the bike for the first 10-15min before warming up. the temps stayed comfortable even during the climbs etc. mostly I think due to overall low humidity. weather permitting, I look forward to expanding the weekend rides from current 100-120km range to 150-180km or so. thanks everyone for joining.

@tigerkamen you're getting noticeably better weekly!

@TokyoLiving thanks for the pull on the river. let's ride more when our schedules match, like the Olympic route etc.

@JDM nice meeting you. such a tall guy but doing great on the climb! can't imagine what you'll be doing once you get back into cycling proper. and not even on your best bike...

@stu_kawagoe this is the ride I recommended when you asked about something accessible from Kawagoe but more than 1,000m elevation. If you're interested I'll share my Strava records when I'm home later today

Thanks, @luka . That would be great. I really wanted to join you on that ride but I had family stuff going on that morning.

sure, here you go. I hope you can access it and use it to plan your own outing up there, it's a really great climb. definitely recommend climbing the way we did, and descending on the main road down to the dam, than the other way round. makes much more sense any way one looks at it
