Sorry, completely not related to bikes but.....Is anyone else an 007/Daniel Craig fan like me? I can't believe it's not gonna open until January next year here! Almost anywhere in the world you can see it next month.....oh man I'm so disappointed about this:mad:

I like the new image of Bond as well. The grittiness reminds me of The Sweeney and CI5.

Good one Philip. He's my hero. Besides owning the DVD I have the Casino Royale deck of cards and used to line all the pictured ones up on my desk at work. How childish is that? And his martini line is a classic:

Waiter - Stirred or shaken sir?
Bond- Do I look like I give a damn.

Ah, now that's poetry. Apparently the latest one picks up right from where that final scene ends. Oh, man, why do we have to wait until January. I suppose I'll have to see it in back home over the christmas break.

That's funny; I just happened to come across that movie last week and was wondering when the next one would be coming out. Thanks for the good news. I'm sure I'll find a way to see it when it comes out.

Does anyone have any favorite theaters around Tokyo? I still haven't been to a movie theater since I moved here.

Inspired by this thread I watched Casino Royale again last night. While I like Craig and think it's a cracking film, I must admit that it's simply not cricket when Bond admits to Vespar that all his defences are gone and he's her's. I did the washing up at that point and returned when the sentimentality had died down a bit. Roger Moore wouldn't have allowed this, I'm sure.

I hope that Bond's learnt his lesson for Quantum of Solace and doesn't slip into this sort of emotional attachment again.

Go back and read the original books. You might change the way you think about 007. They are most enjoyable when read as ancient, yellowing, paperbacks. The more folded corners the better.

I read them more than 30 years ago, and though I can't only scarcely remember them, I do feel this new reincarnation of Bond would be more to Fleming's liking than Roger's high heels, flares, and blinking whenever he pulled a trigger.

The big question though is .... if he eventually gets round to riding a Bond Bike, will it be a roadie or a MTB?

Business Class?

Try the Premium Theatre at Roppongi Hills. Costs a bit - 3,000 yen a seat, but you get a free drink (wine or beer, no martinis) and business class seats with tables between 'em in a cozy theatre.

I saw Casino Royal there. Craig's our man. Colder than Pierce. I wouldn't want to cross his path - he's expunged every ounce of emotion!

As for extreme sports, he's due for downhill MTBing or a chase through the backstreets of Yokohama on a track bike. Now that's a quantum leap!

Make mine vodka. Straight.

"The jobs done and the bitch is dead" (must be talking about Matsuhime). Craig is #1 - the end sequence from Casino is fantastic - the real Bond emerges!

Philip

I almost cried when he crashed his Aston Martin though......
Looking forward to seeing the new movie but it looks like a long wait for it to be released Japan :(

Does anyone else read the Herald Tribune? There was a great article about Daniel Craig yesterday. Apparently he had a bit of input into the plot of Quantum of Solace as he wanted to make sure that the story made logical and emotional sense after what happened with Vesper. Sorry Lee, but it looks like there may be a few emotional scenes as he struggles with that. I hope it doesn't melt your cold heart :)

Haha, the existence of such a room is inevitable, but still hilarious. I think that is one experience I will probably go without.
