Old skool time trialling and "twiddling"

Don't know if any of you ever read Dave Moulton's blog, but I really enjoyed this entry:

Loved the bit about twiddling. Compare to the modern focus on developing fast cadence and once again we're reminded that the more things change, the more they, er, don't... :bike:

Back in the day

My dad rode his bike to many races with his race wheels (with tubular tyres) bolted to either side of his front fork as described in the article.

Riding to the race would be OK but riding home afterwards must have been tough
