How long do we have to make a decision? Probably not very long? Haha.
I don't want to commit to such a huge expense unless I know I have half a chance of finishing...

only 700 slots, for the 85km that is what I will be entering. I did not finish the Tour de Oki due to time cut. This will be most likely my last event before I leave Japan.

Hmm, the final cutoff for the 85 km race, which has about 1,450 m of gain, is four hours and twenty minutes...
That wouldn't actually be that much of a challenge.

By comparison, the 150 km race has 2,570 m of gain and a final cutoff of five hours and forty five minutes. That....would be hard.

If you treat both as a long climb, for me there would be a 90 watt difference. lol.

Hope to do it this year.
I registered in 2020 for the 150km while the price was relatively affordable, around 16000yens if I am not wrong. Plane ticket booked, ready to go. The race was canceled twice in a row and last year some job constraints did not allow me to go. It was fortunately possible to keep to the registration valid for the next year and I still have an automatic entry, but turning 50 next month, it will be for the 85km. Well, an other business trip around that time is on the forecast….
and the hope to becoming The World Champion is vanishing !!!
That’s your chance @ RRditch
