So next week my new bike will be arriving in Arizona to be reboxed and shipped to me here.
Yes, I have a problem. No, I am not bothered by it.
Anyhow - the biggest issue I am dealing with is space (and sleep).

This bike will replace my commuter and then it is time to let the Soma go.
I have said this repeatedly... the Soma has been my go to bike for a few years and every time I consider letting it go, I kinda fall back in lover with it again.
But I almost mean it this time!
Another bike???? What did you get this time?

One of the colors--dark black.

I wonder what light black looks like.
They have run Dark Black for a while. I think I remember the original Karate Monkey came in that color, so it goes back to the 90s. And yes, I had the same reaction.
Mine with be Pickled Beet Red. I didn't want the dark black and the Andy's Apple Red was a bit too much for my liking.

I wonder how many English/Japanese bilingual ex-pros there even are.

I assume this means they will be making Japanese videos, since English isn't the biggest issue here.

Sounds like a job for Fumi after he retires...haha.

I don't think you need to be a pro, just a rider of high standard.
There must be loads of people qualified to do this.

Has anyone seen a GPS route somewhere online for the current proposed Olympic Men's Road Race route? https://www.cyclowired.jp/news/node/249518

I know it's not set in stone yet but I'd like to try riding it (except for the Speedway part) soon before it gets too hot. I could always try guessing it myself from the map on that site but I feel as though someone else must have better info on it than me.

Man I wish sometimes I could put my head down and learn how to read.

New wheel day is almost as good as new bike day :)
you seem to be already armed with harmony, at least you're in harmony with my thoughts exactly on this issue haha

Aluminium with an anodised brake track? Where did you get them from, and without meaning to sound uncouth, what kind of price did you pay for them?
apparently they don't call it anodized, but similar thing in the end. check them out. couldn't find them in Japan under 14man, but managed to source them from a german discount dealer for about 8.5 man, shipping and tax included, so pretty satisfied with that (recent stronger yen probably helped too). we've had a nice little ride out chichibu way today with the new toy
