Hello,

Has anyone riden that road around Mount Aso in between takadake and nekodake ? i have normal road tires i hope it s fine. i cant see any photo on google streetview (usually this is the way i do to check prior to my trip). however on strava heatmap it seems few people went there by bike before.
I enjoy road + trail run trips and am planning to do next weekend a small loop over 2 days 200km ride and 40km run (kuju-san + aso-san + sobo-san).
see route for the bike part: https://www.strava.com/routes/22583766

also i saw this warning: http://www.aso.ne.jp/~volcano/info/ 火口周辺警報(噴火警戒レベル2)発表中のため火口から半径約1km以内への立ち入りは禁止です。
ご注意ください。1次規制中 Level 2 Eruption Warning. The area within 1km from the creater is off-limits.
--> do you know if i can hike to Nakadake east side of Mount Aso ? i could hike from west side ropeway or north east side ropeway or from south west side ropeway. also i can see a route from east side: https://www.strava.com/routes/22583748

Thanks & happy rides !
Romain

hello ; if anyone wants the info. that road was ok to go with normal bike and normal tire ; just can't go too fast as quality is soso but it was stunning landscape and so remote ; it was a fun 2 days weekend
- saturday: https://www.strava.com/activities/2868368180 ; ride from kumamoto to kuju and hike the summit, then ride to the pass in between the 2 mountains and attempted to hike to mount aso but u-turned then rode to hotel
- sunday: https://www.strava.com/activities/2870393732 ; hike sobo-san ; then rode up to mount aso with incredible smoking crater view. unfortunately could not hike up crater/peak as it was closed.
