There was some media stuff on this as a running thing a couple months ago. I don't think it was discussed here as to how it may apply to cycling.

The (doubtful) claims are that too much running is not a good thing, and that moderate distances are better.

So does that translate over to cycling?

Too much of anything is, by definition, bad for you. Running for hours every day might add years to your life… but you will have spent all those bonus years running.

It's well known (not sure if fact or rumour) that professional sportsmen are nor the healthiest nor the longest living people on the planet.
