Hello bikers.
It's the last weekend of July. Some of us will be away in Norikura for the Shine On! Cycle Challenge in Norikura. Wish us good weather in the mountains! Sorry we couldn't take everybody! But even more of us are still here in The Big Mikan. Rides-a-plenty. Many thanks, Ira and James.

Eight Rivers Flat Loop (Ira)

Meet at 8:00 a.m. at Higashi Tamagawa Park near Futago-tamagawa station. http://goo.gl/maps/kyL1
In honor of our Norikura Hill Riders, we will ride a Century over an Eight River Flat Loop with NO HILLS. We'll ride up the Tamagawa River, to the Asakawa River, the Yudonogawa River, the "Idonogawa" River, the Sakaegawa River, the Ondagawa River, the Tsurumigawa River, the Yagamigawa River, and back to to the Tamagawa River to our starting point. A Tokyo Kanagawa 100 km loop ride of rivers, trees, rice fields, and more with no hills. Easy to Medium pace, but distance makes this an intermediate ride.
Leader: Ira Stevens o8o-5673-9o42 (call or send text)

Odaiba Beginners' Ride (James)
Meet at 10.00 a.m. in front of the Grand Hyatt for a 15 km trundle to Odaiba beach paradise to have a wee picnic and a beer and watch the improbably tiny dogs on strings. Then 15 km back. All welcome - assuming you have a bike and know how to ride without training wheels. Wear a helmet. Don't wear earphones.

Kasai Rinkai Park (Ira)

Meet at 10.00 a.m. at our usual spot in front of the Grand Hyatt at Roppongi Hills.
Ride our regular route out towards Odaiba, via Tsukiji but then head toward Tokyo Heliport and cross bridge to Kasai Rinkai Park for a ride of 22 km, then tour the park and take a break at Kasai Rinkai Park at 28 km. Then ride back via The Red River Road, the Tokyo Heliport, Wakasu Park, see the Gomi bridge, and stop at Odaiba for a second break at 55 km. Then ride back to Roppongi via one of our routes home. Goal is back by 3pm. Total 60 - 65 km. The only hills are the bridges we have to cross. Easy to Medium quick pace as we level up and push ourselves to ride a little faster and go a little further.

I have just noticed that the above two rides start at the same time at the same place. Should be interesting. I wanna watch Ira and James fighting with their Rapha handbags as they vie for riders.

Watch out for fireworks and fireworks rides: Sat 10th August for Tokyo Bay Fireworks, Sat 17th August for Tamagawa Fireworks. Do you have lights for your bike?
