When I checked the TCC website recently, I found out that threads such as "New girl riding in town" have a substantial higher number of views than seemingly much more interesting topics such as "customs duties on bike frames". So now that I hopefully tricked many of you to open this thread, don't be too disappointed, as usual the Tsukuba endurance race started with a cheerleading performance from Tokyo highschool.

Please read the full race report which contains also some interesting pieces of information about cycling on the Positivo Espresso team blog.

Tsukuba is definitely a nice race, especially for riders who have never raced before and would like to sample the experience. Something for TCC next spring?

Oh. I guess I needn't have clicked on this thread so fast...

Tsukuba is definitely a nice race, especially for riders who have never raced before and would like to sample the experience. Something for TCC next spring?

Think I've mentioned this before, but enduros on auto racing tracks (Tsukuba, Motegi, Suzuka(?)) are a really good way to try your hand at racing, on your own terms and while avoiding some of the more alarming elements of a typical criterium. The tracks are spacious, and the wide range of participants means there are usually groups moving at whatever speed you're comfortable with.

Although it's further out than Tsukuba, I've enjoyed both the Motegi events I've been too... Would be great to have a TCC team in action at those next year.

I would just like to state, for the record, the reason I introduced myself as "new girl on a road bike" was because my name "kori" is androgynous enough that many people are surprised to find out I'm not a guy. If I wanted to get attention, I would have posted pictures.:D

Customs duty at Tsukuba Endurance Race

Kori,

you are right that the idea to this comparison is from the two post "Customs duty on a frame imported from the US" and your "New girl on a road bike". However it was not my intention to imply that you posted this to create attention.

In fact I am wrong. As per today "New girl on a road bike" had 679 views and "Customs duty on a frame imported from the US" the astonishing number of 875. Who would have thought that there is such a desire among the TCC members to discuss the complex international frame work of custom duties in a WTO context.

As I definitely want to create some attention to my race reportts I will name all subsequent reports around the lines of "Customs duty at Tsukuba Endurance Race (none)".

Cheers

what can I say? I guess getting checked out and holding a groups attention are two different things.

chuckle chuckle.

Race Analysis

I just received the lap time data from the organizers of the race and produced an xls analysis which I posted on the Positivo Espresso blog.
Please take a look if you are interested in defining your strategy for the next endurance race.
