My trusty Deuter Transalp Pro's zipper is on the way out. Apart from the main compartment's zipper, the backpack is still in good nick. Some of the fabric is a bit faded, some of the upholstering is a bit frayed, but apart from the zipper, it functions perfectly. Hence, I was looking into getting it replaced. I have found ways to do this, but none that are financially viable:
- I can send it in to Deuter via one of the bike shops here, but that will cost me 10,000 ¥.
- I have asked in one tailor shop, and they want a little less than 20,000 ¥.

None of these options is financially viable, I'd rather get a new backpack. Do you guys have any suggestions, is there a way to get a zipper replaced for, say, 5,000 ¥ or so?

Some dry cleaners have connections to "reform" shop or people who can do minor clothes repairs or alterations.

Just an idea.
