Hoping that this week I won't get heat stroke while out riding.
Going out on the Tama for some gentle miles.
If you see a super hot chick on an even sexier bike this morning, wave!
Not sure what that photo is. After staring at it for a while I think I've determined it's a bike dressed up like a train. I would wave if I saw that on the Tama.
So, no one waved to me yesterday, but I had a great ride. You know there's something wrong with the ecosystem when 29º feels pleasantly cool for a ride. Sheesh.
Today didn't cross 30º either, but I managed to give myself minor heat stroke again anyway. I bought a 2-liter bottle of Green Dakara and still overheated.
Oh well. Studies show riding in miserable heat makes you faster. So there.
It's called a dekochari. They're bikes, most of which are dressed up like (dressed up) trucks. I've twice seen a similar (if rather more modest) example going along the Tama, somewhere between Fuchū and Fussa. Though the most extraordinary bike I've seen there remains one with no decoration: a (full sized) "ordinary".
Try this rather unusual example of a dekochari not dressed as a truck:
