Hi, BSG recommends I have my Di2 battery positioned as low as possible on my frame. However, I want to install it in my seat post. Any real downside in this?
It's probably fine wherever you can mount it and keep it protected from environment and easy enough to access for charging. As for CG effects - it's complete nonsense that a couple hundred gr frame mounted battery will in any way affect the handling. Now if it was on the handlebar, for example, it <might> change the resonant frequency associated with possible fork shake (even some computer mounts will induce or reduce this).
