CHANPON CLINCHER

thread dredge: What is a good tire with good wet grip and still long wearing? Last racing tires I had were about 20 years ago, two tone black and green Michelins, have things changed much? Not looking to race but will be training on a road bike with gears so I need faster tires than the 700X34s I usually ride on the road. Oh clinchers.

Recommend vittoria pave. Last long, come in green, black and good performance in the wet, while very subtle. You can get 24c from last year or this years 25 or 27 version. I use them on the front and change them around 9000k.

I guess the 24 or 25 would be less of a transition coming from 34, than harsh 23s

...these days when speed and KOMs don't count much, I'm digging 28c both front and back (Panasonic Randonneur) - no more size mixing. Wen comfort is not an issue, I stick to 23c clinchers. 20c clinchers roll extremely well but at the sacrifice of good grip on descents.
