Btw Stu, the stamped cogs on the Alfne are quite soft, so this is a trouble point, too. There are some aftermarket better ones. I think you'll get good life out of the Izumi. And later, let's do a belt conversion.

The rear cog, made from steel is stamped but is doing OK, the front chainwheel is aluminum and is showing signs of wear. I'd like to get some better ones, maybe next on the list.

The belt conversion is the final goal I want, but will require a lot more work, to change the frame to alow a belt to be installed.
