Bike fitting

Gutted....:(

Never had a bike fit, but did have an ACL replaced and torn medial meniscus sewn back together. Years later, I had a second surgery here in Tokyo to fix a bit of a lingering problem with the meniscus. In both cases, for recovery, I was told to get back on the bike, mostly for range of motion, as soon as possible. So, I was wondering if you've tried cycling on a trainer with no resistance at all and if so, if you also get the pain. If so, I would imagine the issue is the knee, not the fit, and a visit to a specialist would give you a better idea of the best next step. But, what the heck do I know.

Sorted it back in 2012. Been all good since then! How did you even find this thread?

Changing cleats from the mtb cleats to speed plays plus the fit did it. Seemed bad right after but cleared up never to appear again soon after the fit.
I think it was a lateral stability issue. The mtb cleats and shoes I had had a fair bit of instability laterally and once I got onto speed plays and the sped play specific sidis it was all good.
I think my seat was too high as well, and dropping that played a part too I think...
It's a bit hard to tell really cause a few things were changed at the same time but I think those were the primary issues.
So despite my initial disappointment gotta say the guy / a purchase sorted me out.
