saw one of these systems at the Tokyo Cyclemode and to be honest I'll stick with 150 year old technology, tested by lots and lots of famous riders :D

Lots of interesting photos of Nicolai mtbs with various interesting drive systems, including the Gates carbon drive and a Rholoff. Add a Hammershmidt and you`ve got my dream set up: no derailleurs, no chain, lots of gears...

The limiting factor of the carbon drive is it can`t be broken. The frame has to have opening seat-stay/chain-stay, or an elevated chainstay, or be assembled with the belt in place.
