I think I will join with Pete on this ride. It is very challenging and chance to climb-to-fail because the steep portion. Perfect for pre-Kusatsu training (for me anyway).

So this Saturday, let’s do Shiraishi Toge. We’ll ride up the Arakawa as usual and then follow this map: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/330487

Depending on time and energy levels we have a couple of up options once we reach the summit. We can turn around and descend back down the climb we just did, or if we are doing really good on time we can do a part of the Green Line that we’ve never ridden before. Either way, we can take an alternative way home.

The days are starting to get a little longer and it’s getting a little warmer so how about a 7:30am meeting time? Also, how about meeting just off the river at the Family Mart convenience store located here: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=35.79...5.793702,139.685808&spn=0.00372,0.008256&z=18

Yeah really excellent ride today! We started with 9 riders and finished with 7. Two had time constraints and turned back. I ended up with 186km door to door and about 1800m of vertical climbing for the day. It was nice doing Shiraishi Toge for the first time and a part of the Green Line that I hadn't done before!

Great to see and ride with everyone, I'm looking forward to next weekend!

Great ride, good to see old faces and new, and a chance to pop the cherry on my TCC jersey. And who can forget the surprise shakuhachi and song performance by the hiker at Shomaru Toge !

Thanks for arranging this Pete and pulling us out there - and Tim for the training tips !

Looking forward to the next one --

Cheers
Steve
