Last year I took part in this race, which was eventually my first-ever bike race event in my life.
It was also the first edition of this race itself, and considering there were 2,000+ participants,
I think the whole event was nicely organized.
I'm intending to take the race this year again.

[Date] Sep 30th, 2012
[Official web site] http://www.akg-hc.jp/

- The course is relatively long (20km) with 1,300m elevation gain.
- Online registration begins on 5/26(Sat) 10AM via RUNNET.

Unlike last year, online registration this year is 'first-come, first-served' basis, and I'm guessing
the spots will fill up very quickly.

Seems like the 2,600 online tickets sold out in one day.

There's still a chance for 400 spots if you're lucky; application starts from June 9th using good ol' snail mail, ends on June 15th.

This race is distinctive in two ways;
- Heat. The first half of the course can be extremely hot. End of September is still summer, and Maebashi is a city that usually marks one of the highest temperature records within Kanto area in the summer season.
- The first 5km of the course runs through populated area, so there will be lots and lots of spectators cheering along the road. Feels fantastic.

Wow! What makes this event so special?
When applying bu mail, do you send cash in the envelope?
