I'm planning my racing schedule for this year.

My blog post copied in below.

If you want to know more about these or other races, hill climbs, JCRC, JBCF etc. just give me a shout.

Cheers, Andy

Andy, do you mind listing the main hill climbs in Kanto for 2019? I’ve heard different ones mentioned on the site but it would be helpful to see them all in one place.

Edit - I’ve read your site (very useful btw) but my ad blocker stops me linking to it. Can you write out the URL and then I’ll save your site to the bookmarks on my phone?

I'll help out with the big ones I know. In no particular order.
Akagi Hill Climb
http://www.akg-hc.jp/
Haruna Hill Climb
http://www.haruna-hc.jp/
Mt. Fuji Hill Climb (Subaru Line)
https://www.fujihc.jp/
Sengoku Hill Climb (Amariyama)
http://www.tour-de-nippon.jp/series/nirasaki/

Also the Tokyo Hill Climb series of hill climbs (Nariki, Okutama, Omi, Hinohara) held fairly close to Tokyo.

There is also Mt. Fuji King of Hill climb. Many fewer entrants than Fuji Hill Climb, but also much harder.

In @GrantT 's list I will do the TT at Haruna on Saturday (HC on Sunday). For the sole reason that I can tell my grandchildren that I raced around the crater on the top of a volcano...

My FB blog is here if you can access it?

You're going all the way to Akita for a TT? Damn...

Tokyo Enduro sounds like fun! Where do you find all of these? lol
Chokai is a great event. A TT on the Saturday and a hillclimb on the Sunday. You can camp for free on the big grass field in front of the onsen. On Saturday night they have music, fireworks etc.

Last time I went was 2006, so really looking forward to it.

13 years later and it's not got any easier!

Unfortunately, we'll be making a flying visit as we fly out to the UK on the Monday. If you have more time though, there is a second route up Chokai from the seaside called the Blue Line, which you can ride up one road and come down on the other. The coast road is also beautiful up there. Gas san too is worth a climb...

By the way, where do you find all these events? A lot of these aren't listed on Sports Entry.

I will definitely try to do a few of these. Maybe more if I can reach my goal weight this winter.

Niseko is definitely the A race... but I'm going to need to lose a lot of weight.

Supposedly Link Tohoku is working on a crit near where I live, as well as a TT!

Sports Entry is just one place that advertises events. They take a cut of the entry fee, so events which were well established eg. Norikura, Yatsugatake, Uchinada etc etc don't need the service.

I know of all these races just from experience.

The Link Tohoku TT / TTT will be

may 11/12 link tohoku TT, TTT

or

june 28/29 link tohoku TT, TTT

I may do it if it is in June. May's pretty booked up.

Yeah, but it's one of the most comprehensive places to look for events, although most of them aren't races (excepting for hill climbs).

I think we paid like 80,000 yen to list our event there. Probably worth it, but I suspect SPOEN is part of why cycling events are so damned expensive in Japan.

I have the Challenge Race at Japan Cup in mind for sure...
Uchinada sounds like fun, although it's kind of a hike.

There's also crits every few months in Sendai. Now I can ride in the age group race. Haha. It's not really a crit since there's an uphill section, though...really more like a road race.

I think one of the cycling magazines puts out a near-exhaustive list of events.

Cyclesports magazine.

That was the bible before the internet. And is still worth a browse if you are anducted to a shopping mall...
