That's funny! While my Merlin sports these kind of tensioning barrels for the front and rear derailleur cables, my Panasonic does not appear to be equipped with any of these.
That's because yours is part of the Dura-Ace in-line cylindrical Optical Gear Display which is spliced into your derailleur cable housing...tensioning barrels are sometimes omitted for extra lightness or because the wires run inside the downtube (Cervelo, etc.)
